Show HN: Say Toucan – my feedback board 3x'd its price, so I built my ownhttps://saytoucan.com

My user feedback board provider increased its price from $15 to $25 to $50/mo, so I built a ~free alternative that does just the few things I need: make a feature request, vote on feature requests from others. There's a paid tier at $2/mo, and I only need ~1% of users to opt-in to pay to offset server costs. Of course, you can request features on Say Toucan using Say Toucan: https://saytoucan.com/b/say-toucan (The name is so dumb and I'm so thrilled with myself. Say Toucan do it!) Show HN: ChessNotate – Fix a broken PGN without branching into a new variationhttps://chessnotate.app

Hi HN! I just built ChessNotate to turn my handwritten chess scoresheet into a clean PGN to solve my own pain points when it comes to capturing my games (and my son's) A lot of times my son and I make typos (accidentally mixing up B with b), or missing out moves through the middlegame and the frustrating part is when I try to validate it using PGN validator, if the PGN is invalid, it either rejects the PGN outright, or stops at the first error and everything else gets discarded. Then I have to fix the moves one by one. Worse, correcting a move usually gets treated as branching to a new variat…

Show HN: Vibes – A Mac app for friends to see who's online and codinghttps://vibes.opentangle.com

Hi HN, I built Vibes because I wanted a small sense of company while working on my own projects. It’s a native Mac app that shows which friends are online, what they’ve chosen to put in their status, and a summary of their day’s Git activity. You pick local repositories and connect with friends through invite links. There are orbit and list views, plus optional music and weather sharing. The idea is to glance over and see that a friend is around building something too. Git scanning happens locally. Source code, file contents, repository paths, branch names, and commit messages aren’t…

Show HN: Cowbull – Wordle-like game where you only get match countshttps://cowbull.co

CowBull is a word game where you have to find the hidden four-letter word. You make guesses and get back the count of exact letter matches (bulls) and partial matches (cows). It’s a bit like Wordle, but you are not told the exact letters which match, only the count of matching letters. Scoring is based on the number of guesses and time used. There is a single player mode and a multi-player mode (no account required). The game source code is at https://github.com/claceio/cowbull . When I was younger, we used to play this game on paper at the back of the classroom during school and college in…

Large-Language Models as a Cognitive Virushttps://arxiv.org/abs/2609.03344

Large-language models (LLMs) are rapidly becoming part of human culture, reshaping how information is produced, transmitted, and used. Here we propose that their diffusion can be understood through a viral analogy, with LLM use spreading through populations, becoming embedded in cognitive and cultural practices. We model transitions among uncoupled, coupled, and persistently dependent users, and show that the interplay between social transmission, recovery, and collective reinforcement can generate tipping points and technological lock-in. A central consequence is the possibility of runaway d…

Tested only on Silicon Macs, so any feedback is welcome. As part of my workflow when the agent get the video it can open the app with the video or videos loaded in the timeline for me to cut and t…

Show HN: Minilith – A zero-dependency CMS stored inside a PNG filehttps://blog.minilith.site

I enjoy the constraints of retro development. While building games in PICO-8, I took a interest in the way it packs data into the virtual cartridge. Minilith is a database free CMS where the entire state (posts, pages, and settings) are compressed and stored directly in the pixels of a 256xd256 PNG file. Minilith has zero dependencies.
